Dungannon Splash-In 2006
I could be wrong but I think this is Petes Ready 2 taxing out onto the flight line for his first flight of the day and what a day it was! Although a little chilli, it wasn't too windy and we all had a great days flying.
Heres the main men out having a flight together. Brian (closest) and the big eejit (Pete).
Now this is something else! A turbine powered helicopter. It sounds absoulutly amazing and as you can see it has floats on, it took off from the water which makes it the first turbine powered model heli in Ireland to do so!
Also, if you look carefully you can see a HUGE buldge on the float. This was caused by the severe heat coming from the turbine. He has recently had to make a metal plate to protect the float!
This is one of those sea/land/air planes and it worked a treat! It seemed very stable on take off, mid air and even on landing, its a great idea and I think these will be a popular Christmas pressie.
This picture and the one beside it are very similar...this is Chris (I think) showing the heli boys how to do it properly getting nice and low to the water....INVERTED!
This gives you some idea of the amazing facilities we have on site. A HUGE open space with no obstacles and a wooden pier for the planes to be released from. Perfect doesn't even begin to describe this site.
No-one else wanted to play rock-scissors-stone with Brian, awww!

THE RULE BREAKERS!!
A few of the boys looking a little worse for wear already! Look at how many bottles of beer/vodka/gin and whatever else are on that table, its a disgrace! Luckily I was sensible and didn't have anything to drink *cough cough*
On behalf of the N.D.M.A.C. I want to say a huge thank you to Donavan and the Dugannon MFC boys for organising such a great event. We even got the privledge of staying over in a summer house which worked out great! We got treated like royalty and have been told anytime we want to come back, just give him a shout! I'm sure we will take him up on this offer in the near future!
